Eff You Bon Jovi

Lately I have been listening to music on my XM Satellite Radio when a song comes on the country station. The song is "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and it is performed on that station by Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles. Then I switch to a pop station and the song that comes on is "Who Says You Can't Go Home" performed by Bon Jovi alone. Now for one, the song sucks. And for two it isn't a country song. Bon Jovi is not a country singer. Get him the fuck off my country stations. And for being such a douchebag and sending his music to the country stations, Jon and Richie have allowed the state of New Jersey to use their song on the commercials for their "great" state without paying royalties. So now we have the shitty song on country stations and pop stations, but now on television the song is gonna be shoved down our throats. Well Bon Jovi has decided to take the profits from the song and donating it all to Habitat For Humanity. They are just trying to make up for being such assholes by giving money that they don't even need away. What a bunch of dickheads.

That got me thinking of another artist who is trying to pass herself off as a country singer when she is a mediocre pop singer. Sheryl Crow quit making your shitty music, and if you are going to waste our time by still making it, please, dear God please keep it away from my country stations. I am tired of hearing your sub-par pop voice on my glorious country music stations.

Why the Layover?

It has been 5 years since Mission Impossible II was released to theatres, but Tom Cruise is at it again this summer. It has also been almost 10 years since Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was released to the public but this summer they are beginning to film Mortal Kombat: Devastation and it got me thinking, why such a long layover between films?

I think the answer is that Hollywood has run out of things to make a movie about. They used up all of the stories and they have to make more and more sequels to movies. Just look at this summer as an example - Mission Impossible III, X-Men 3, Scary Movie 4 (and Date Movie, a carbon copy of Scary Movie parodying romantic comedies instead of horror movies), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and Miami Vice (Movie version of a television show).

Hollywood needs to find some new stories because after a while, people will stop going to the theatres and movie stars will need to find a new job...

What Happened To Loyalty?

What happened to the days when a man was rewarded for 15 years of service to the same profession? Especially in this day in age when players switch teams as often as they switch shirts, I cannot believe what the Astros are doing to Jeff Bagwell. This guy is a sure Hall of Famer - a career .297 hitter with 450 homers and 2300 hits. He deserves the opportunity to go out on his own terms. He can still hit, and is more dedicated than so many other players in the league. I just cannot see how management can live with this decision...

End of 2K5

Well the end of Y2K5 has come. You all know what that means: New Year's Resolutions. I think they are all a load of crap. Nobody remembers them past the first week of January. So lets just get rid of those useless waste of time. People need to be thinking of more important things. Like how we can get people to quit talking on their cell phones while driving. Wow how that just pisses me (and most of the world) off to no end. It is dangerous enough driving as it is, but when you add ice and snow and other precipitation too it, it is even worse. We don't need to have cell phones too.

And now the NFL playoffs are about to begin. I enjoy the playoffs, and think this year will be no different. Denver has a first round bye and a home game against everyone in the AFC except Indy. The Broncos have a great chance to get to the Super Bowl this year and I would be ecstatic. Go Denver.

American Music Awards? I Think Not!

So last week I was watching what was billed as the "American Music Awards" on ABC. Well after watching the show I determined that was an incorrect title for an award show. This particular show should have been billed as the "Affirmitive Action Awards." If you see the winners, you will notice that there are an equal amount of winners among males and females. There is also an almost even amount of black people and white people who won awards. What a load of crap. You ever notice how many black award shows there are? If a group of white people decided that they wanted their own award show, they would be ripped apart. But black people can have anything they want. I am not trying to be a racist or anything here, I am just stating what we are all thinking. It is about time for the african american community to drop all this hostility stemming from stuff that occurred during the 1800s. Give it a rest people.

Eddie You Will Be Missed

The world has been saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero passed away yesterday morning. Anyone who follows professional wrestling knows that he gave everything he had and was a class act. Eddie was one of the best performers of this generation. Rest In Peace Eddie, you will certainly be missed.

This is SO Going in My Blog!

What is up? Well here is the inagural post in Joker's Wild Card. I guess it is time to introduce myself. My name is Lewis. I am a Freshman at Dawson Community College in the town of Glendive, MT. Whoopdie Do I know. But I am only here because I absolutely LOVE the game of Baseball, and this is the cheapest school that I can play ball at. I'm a Second Baseman/Outfielder. And since I am a full-time college student, and not working, I have a whole lot of down time. So I play videogames. Really surprising I know. I have been here for two and a half months, and in the first month, I beat Jak 2 and Jak 3 each twice. If you have a PS2, I highly suggest checking these two games out. They are really addictive. Currently I have been playing Resident Evil 4 non-stop. Another game that if you have either a GameCube or a PS2 I suggest getting. Amazing game. Also check out the movies. They are great. If you are a sports nut, fantasy player, or just want to meet some good people, go to http://www.fantasyoutlaws.com . It is a great site and I am a big poster in the Baseball department. Anyways I think I have rambled on for long enough so I will leave you with these three words: Ain't I Great??!!
